Boston Police report they are looking for a guy who broke into an apartment on Lanark Road, between Kinross and Sutherland roads around 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 8.

Boston College is out with formal regulations about scooters with motors that include such common-sense rules as yielding to pedestrians and not driving them hellbent for leather while on campus, the BC Heights reports. But also:

Students living in residence halls can store their scooters inside, but they must carry and not ride the scooters while indoors, the email states.

The owner of the Irving gas station at 500 Western Ave. in Brighton will soon file plans to replace it with a six-story, 118-unit apartment building that will feature some "district parking" to make up for the lost of on-street spaces in a planned city upgrade and rezoning of Western Avenue. WCAI reporter Jeanette Barnes reports that one of the first people to meet the Venezuelans shipped from Texas by the governor of Florida after they were moved to Joint Base Cape Cod today was Katiuska Valiente. Valiente, is a native Venezuelan and former Univision Nuea Inglaterra anchor who co-owns Peka Restaurant in Brighton Center, which serves Venezuelan food - which she brought with her for the immigrants.

A man who bought a pizza place called Big Daddy's on Western Avenue in Brighton in June is suing the brother of the man he bought it from for setting up a place called Big Daddy's Famous Pizza just 2 1/2 miles away on Chestnut Hill Avenue, saying the saucy move is costing him dough by confusing even some of his more loyal customers. Eversource reports the power died in Oak Square around 7:45 p.m. As of 10:25 p.m. there are more than 1,800 homes and businesses without power. Residents report it came back just after 10:35.
