You're reading this because a Yemeni LNG tanker did not blow up in the harbor this morning

This is, of course, part of the reason I wouldn't trust Fox News to tell me my house was on fire. I'd probably check with other news outlets before seeing it with my own eyes...

It is not a Yemeni tanker. The "Maran Gas Coronis" is Greek owned and managed. Just looking quickly, I can't get any crew information, but I suspect the only thing Yemeni on it is the LNG which is actually no more inflammable than LNG from any part of the world.

...is more proof that terrorists are everywhere and are out to get us ! That's why we have to live in fear, shred the Constitution and start wars.

I'm sure the US Coast Guard screens all hands on deck on all LNG ships destined for the Boston Harbor long before they arrive. Right? And when they boarded the tanker, they conducted a full search of every spot to reassure themselves and us that there was no threat of a .... neatly planted explosive device next to a neatly planted dirty bomb which would do plenty of damage as an act of terror. That say, I'm hoping the wind would be blowing from the West. For nine years we've been hearing, 9/11 changed everything. This pretty clearly seams like business as usual.

Boston, 21st largest city in the US, is the only LNG delivery depot in a major US city. Security officials decided to close the Tobin. It pretty clearly demonstrates they have concerns about the risk of life lost and property damaged posed by navigating an LNG tanker passing near it.

The MA legislature could move on this issue and require LNG depots to be located away from major populations and for LNG companies to reimburse the city, state and coast guard for security costs.

the only reason they closed the bridge was to satisfy the kook-fearing politicians. If they don't close the bridge, the kooks say there's not enough security. If they do close the bridge the kooks say they proves things as bad as they say they are. Kook logic.

You're probably right to dismiss concerns about terror attacks in the US. It's been almost almost two months since Mr. Abdulmutallab tried to blow up Northwest Airlines Flight 253 and kill all the passengers on board.

Instead of being a terrorist denier, why not adjust standard operating procedure so that if an attack on a LNG tanker is attempted, it would affect far fewer people than say less than the number of people living in the 21st most populated city in the US? All that would require was moving the depot out of a heavily populated area and using our gas pipeline network to move the product to consumers.

"Not that I condone fascism, or any ism for that matter. Isms in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon: 'I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me.' Good point there. After all, he was the Walrus. I could be the Walrus, but I'd still have to bum rides off of people." -- Ferris Bueller

That explains the helicopter noise in the middle of the night for a long ass time. Love to live right on the water. ;)
