Duane de Four reports that when he saw something and said something yesterday morning, the T did nothing:

Learned today that if a fight breaks out on the train and you hit the emergency button the MBTA Doesn't do SHIT! How's that for security? ... It was the Red Line around JFK all the way to Downtown Crossing... Dude tried to fight the whole car.

Acidgalore details her attempt to get from Davis Square to a Yo La Tengo show at the Wilbur Theatre. If they ever do a remake "The Out of Towners" in Boston (hey, it could happen now that we're Hollywood East), they should hire her as a consultant (don't worry, she did make it).

Signal troubles on the Green Line downtown, dead train at Eliot, roadway problems on the 5 Silver Line, dead train somewhere on the Red Line between JFK/UMass and Park Street, but at least the Orange and Blue lines are running OK.

Laura Vogel reports:

New record: door (North End) to door (Kendall Sq) travel time is 51 mins due to Red Line "delays." To be fair, it IS 2.6 miles.

Reports are coming in of a guy on the Red Line tracks at South Station. Climbed back up OK, was promptly pinned to the ground by a T inspector to await police, Marq tweets.

Boston Police tweet on the accident early this afternoon. MBTA spokeswoman Lydia Rivera says an inspector came in contact with an exposed wire and was shocked, never lost consciousness and was taken to Boston Medical Center with a non-life threatening injury.

The MBTA's chief technology officer is apologizing for delayed notices about yesterday's Red Line derailment. In e-mail to people who wrote to complain, Gary Foster says the service-alert system failed "just minutes before the incident on the Red Line" and wasn't brought back up until 5:22 p.m., or more than an hour after the Red Line came to a halt.

His e-mail follows:

UPDATE: At 9:45 a.m., the T's Joe Pesaturo reported no delays - at least, according to a reporter who got his e-mail after having been stuck in a tunnel for 10 minutes near Porter.

OK, maybe not yet. But after yesterday's derailment at Alewife comes word this morning that the Red Line's lost power between JFK and North Quincy.
