Edwin Alemany, convicted for the brutal murder of Amy Lord of South Boston in a Hyde Park forest in July, 2013, today asked a federal judge to free him because, he claims, his trial attorneys were "ineffective" in going with an insanity defense. Read more.

The South Boston Neighborhood Development Corp. has filed plans with the BPDA to renovated McDevitt Hall, 207 E. St., to make it an apartment building with 35 units for seniors and one for a live-in manager. Read more.

Boston Police report arresting Felix Antonio Palmer, 36, on charges he raped a woman at D and West 5th streets around 5:40 a.m. on Sept. 23.

In addition to rape, he is also charged with indecent assault and battery and assault and battery, police say.

Wanted for sexual assault in South Boston

Boston Police have released photos of a man they say sexually attacked somebody at D and West 5th streets in South Boston around 5:40 a.m. on Sept. 23.

WCVB reports on our decaying infrastructure, specifically, a pole that gave way and smashed into a woman's head this afternoon. A 311 report claims the pole was rusted at the bottom.

One of these men is behind bars, the other is still loose.

Aiyoub Alsallak, 29, was arraigned today on various charges for a Sept. 5 attack on a Red Line platform at Andrew station that left the 56-year-old victim with head injuries, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

Red Line Pizza says it's open until 2:30 a.m.

The Boston Licensing Board yesterday ordered Red Line Pizza, 582 Dorchester Ave. in South Boston, to start complying with its license and close its doors to walk-in customers at 11 p.m. Read more.

A judge last week tossed a legal life preserver to a man who crashed his boat into a 40-foot-high marker in Boston Harbor, that left one passenger drowned, saying he could continue to make his case under federal maritime law that it's not his fault he plowed into the large fixed structure early one summer morning last year. Wanted for Andrew attack

Transit Police report they are looking for two men they say attacked a 56-year-old man at the Andrew Red Line stop around 9 p.m. on Monday, sending him to a local hospital for emergency care. Read more.
