Fresh off its victory over the sleeping peeps of Allston, Taco Bell is going to try to build another wee-hours taco-like emporium in Boston, this time at 1084 Boylston St., near Mass. Ave., where presumably starving (musical) artists from Berklee will quieren Taco Bell at the end of a long night. Read more.

The driver of an 18-wheeler tried to get on Storrow Drive outbound from the Bowker Overpass this morning only to learn that like the house in poker, the bridge always wins. Bright-eyed and bushytailed NBC Boston photographer Mark Garfinkel was on the scene shortly before 6:30 a.m. and posted some photos of what it looks like after the overpass is done teaching its latest lesson.

The Huntington News reports that Northeastern is considering whether to build a new arena to replace Matthews Arena, which in its more than 100 years of history has been home to not just Northeastern teams but, back when it was called the Boston Arena, the Celtics and Bruins. Read more.

State Police report a Salem woman this morning led police from the North Shore into Boston on a wild chase full of crashed cars and gates - at the Coast Guard base in the North End and at Fenway Park, both of which police say she rammed into with her 2024 Honda Accord. Read more.

Dumpster fire in the Fens

Boston firefighters responded to the Fens off Boylston Street around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday for what turned out to be a dumpster fire, not the more traditional spring brush fire, which may have become a thing of the past, anyway, now that the reeds have all been cut down.

A federal judge today sentenced Xiaolei Wu to nine months in prison for reacting to a flier another Berklee student posted calling for democracy in their homeland by threatening her with death - maybe even by being eaten by a homeless person at South Bay - and by reporting her and her family to Chinese officials, including his mother, a government functionary. A bouncer at Game On in the Fenway lost his job after smacking one alleged jerk of a customer in the forehead with his flashlight, while a bouncer at Candibar in the Theater District was suspended for a week after punching a customer who made a particularly crude remark about his 11-year-old daughter. The daughter of man dragged and then crushed by a dump truck at Massachusetts and Huntington avenues in 2022 today filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against both the driver and the New Hampshire company that owned the truck. Read more.

The Daily Free Press reports that the BU Graduate Workers Union, affiliated with the SEIU, will start their strike today with a rally at Marsh Plaza on Commonwealth Avenue following unsuccessful negotiations over wage increases, better working conditions and funding for childcare for grad students with young children.

A federal judge today sentenced Matthew Jordan Lindner, 39, of Comfort, Texas, to three months in federal prison for calling a doctor at Fenway Health who focuses on "gender nonconforming youth" to tell her she would "burn" and that a posse was on its way up to kill her on Aug. 31, 2022 - the day after a woman from western Massachusetts locked down Children's Hospital and part of the Longwood Medical Area by calling in a bomb threat. Inside a Green Line trolley with no lights on

Michael A. Burstein reports he was on an inbound C Line trolley this afternoon when it dipped into the tunnel between St. Mary's and Kenmore and suddenly the lights went off and all the riders were plunged into a nightmarish world where they had to outgun all the other riders - and a series of underworld wraiths, each worse than the one before. OK, OK, the driver rebooted the train, the regular lights came back on and the rest of the journey proved uneventful.
